Musandam: The Ministry of Education has announced that all government, private, and international schools in Musandam Governorate will shift to distance learning tomorrow (Tuesday, 16 December 2025). This precautionary measure has been taken due to forecasts of heavy rainfall, with accumulations potentially reaching up to 60 millimeters, in parts of the governorate beginning at dawn tomorrow. The announcement was made based on information provided by the National Center for Emergency Management.
According to Oman News Agency, the decision aims to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and school staff amid concerns over potential flooding and transportation disruptions. The Ministry has urged parents and guardians to facilitate their children's participation in online classes to ensure continuity of education during this period.
The National Center for Emergency Management has advised residents in affected areas to remain vigilant and to follow any further instructions from local authorities. Emergency services have been put on alert to respond to any incidents that may arise due to the weather conditions.
