RAMALLAH, Two of the three Palestinian Arabic dailies published today highlighted the injury of seven Israelis in an attack in the Jordan Valley and the third highlighted the funeral of a Palestinian man who died while in Israeli custody.

Al-Quds and al-Ayyam dailies said seven Israelis were injured in a shooting attack at a bus in the northern Jordan Valley, with al-Ayyam saying five of them were soldiers. Al-Quds said Israel has raised the state of alert in light of the attack.

The two papers also said in a late-night news item that four soldiers were also injured in another attack at an army watchtower near Ramallah.

The third daily, al-Hayat al-Jadida, said people in Bethlehem took part in the funeral of Mousa Abu Mahameed, 40, who died over the weekend while in Israeli custody following his arrest two months ago for entering Jerusalem without a permit. This item was also reported in the other two dailies.

Al-Hayat al-Jadida also said that President Mahmoud Abbas is expected to arrive in Cairo today for a meeting with his Egyptian counterpart.

Al-Quds said that large-scale condemnation by religious and nationalist figures following the blowing of the horn by the right-wing Israeli extremist Yehuda Glick through his phone while at the Muslim holy site Al-Aqsa Mosque in violation of the agreed-on procedures for entering the holy compound.

The paper said a child was hurt after he was held by soldiers at Masafer Yatta in the south of the West Bank while settlers attacked Palestinians.

It said there are plans to approve two settlement projects in Jerusalem.

Al-Ayyam said a Palestinian family in occupied East Jerusalem was forced to demolish its home for construction without a permit to avoid paying high costs if the West Jerusalem Israeli municipality demolishes it instead.

It said that Hamas announced the execution of five people in Gaza, two of them condemned for spying for Israel, with al-Hayat al-Jadida saying rights organizations have condemned the executions.

Al-Ayyam also had a report on the Israeli restriction on the entry of foreigners to the occupied West Bank.

It said journalist Nidal Ighbarieh was shot and killed in his town of Umm al-Fahm.

Al-Hayat al-Jadida said Google and Amazon employees protested their company’s $1.2 billion agreement signed with the Israeli military.
