North A’Sharqiyah Celebrates Winners of Innovative Economy Awards

Tokyo: North A'Sharqiyah Governorate today celebrated the conclusion of the "North A'Sharqiyah Innovative Economy Awards 2025" with the announcement of the winning projects across various categories. The ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr. Khamis Saif Al Jabri, Minister of Economy.

According to Oman News Agency, Mahmoud Yahya Al Dhuhli, Governor of North A'Sharqiyah, emphasized that innovation has become a national necessity for shaping the future and building an economy based on knowledge and renewal. He noted that the award was established as part of a developmental vision aimed at transforming ideas into projects and ambitions into a tangible economic reality. He explained that since its launch in December 2024, the award has focused on three main tracks: Architectural Innovation, Community Contribution and Volunteer Work, and Institutional Excellence.

These tracks aim to enhance the integration between people, places, and institutions, consolidate concepts of quality and governance, and stimulate a spirit of giving and initiative. The Governor further stated that the awards saw broad participation with a total of 315 entries, including 204 in architectural innovation, 90 community initiatives, and 21 government entities within the institutional excellence track. More than 70 architectural designs were evaluated for the development of facades in four wilayats: Ibra, Al Mudhaibi, Bidiyah, and Sinaw, reflecting the vitality of the community and a spirit of positive competition.

He pointed out that the outcomes of the award have been translated into real investment opportunities through the signing of agreements with several investment companies, with a total value exceeding RO 16. He stressed that this step represents a practical transition from the planning stage to execution and establishes a new phase of sustainable development based on effective partnership. The North A'Sharqiyah Innovative Economy Awards represent one of the developmental initiatives contributing to the enhancement of the innovation environment and the stimulation of local investment. This supports the realization of Oman Vision 2040 objectives and solidifies the governorate's direction toward building a diversified and sustainable knowledge-based economy.
