At least eight Palestinians were injured by Israeli occupation forces today as the latter attacked a weekly protest against Israeli settlements, which took place in the village of Beit Dajan in the occupied West Bank district of Nablus, according to local and medical sources.

Israeli occupation soldiers fired rubber-coated rounds and stun grenades at the protesters, injuring eight of them by bullets. A ninth protester was hit and injured by a gas canister in his foot. Another two protesters sustained burns in their hands after being hit with stun grenades.

Prior to the clashes, Palestinians performed the weekly Friday prayer outdoors in the village before they started a march in protest of the establishment of a new Israeli colonial outpost near the village. The march later developed into a clash with the Israeli occupation army.

Over the past few months as, Palestinians have held weekly protests in the village as well in many other areas in the occupied West Bank, against Israel’s ongoing theft of Palestinian land for the benefit of the colonial Israeli settlement construction and expansion.
