Muscat: Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, has announced the addition of its ninth Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft to its fleet. This development highlights the airline's commitment to enhancing operational processes and modernizing its fleet as it implements its strategy for growth and expansion in global markets.
According to Oman News Agency, Oman Air is utilizing the advanced technologies and fuel efficiency of the Dreamliner to improve operational efficiency on several key long-haul routes. These include crucial destinations such as London, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, as well as Paris and Amsterdam.
This recent addition marks the third aircraft to join the fleet since 2024, with six more expected to be delivered in 2027. Such growth is instrumental in meeting the rising demand for travel to and from Oman, while also supporting the airline's efforts to achieve long-term sustainability by reducing fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
Con Korfiatis, CEO of Oman Air, affirmed that the Dreamliner is a globally recognized wide-body aircraft, known for its efficiency, reliability, and passenger comfort. He emphasized that adding the ninth aircraft strengthens Oman Air's ongoing commitment to building a modern fleet that supports network expansion and enhances the travel experience.
The new aircraft is configured with 30 seats in Business Class and 258 seats in Economy Class, allowing the airline to maintain its commitment to delivering quality travel experiences and comfort for its passengers.
