Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman and the State of Qatar today signed two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and three executive programmes to enhance cooperation in diplomatic training, social development, culture, education, sports, and youth. The agreements were signed during the state visit of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, to Oman. According to Oman News Agency, the first MoU focuses on diplomatic training cooperation between Oman's Foreign Ministry (The Diplomatic Academy) and Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (The Diplomatic Institute). The second MoU targets social development collaboration between Oman's Ministry of Social Development and Qatar's Ministry of Social Development and Family. Additionally, the two nations signed an executive programme for cultural and educational cooperation between their respective education ministries. Furthermore, they agreed on two executive programmes in the sports and youth sectors, aligning Oman's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth with Qatar's Ministry of Sports and Youth. The signing ceremony saw Sultan Salim Al Habsi, Oman's Minister of Finance, representing the Sultanate of Oman. Sheikh Hamad Khalifa Al Thani, Qatar's Minister of Sports and Education, and Dr. Mohammed Abdulaziz Al Khulaifi, Minister of State at Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, signed on behalf of the State of Qatar.
