Kazan: Dr. Mohammed bin Said Al Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, recently met with Sheikh Kamil Samigullin, Mufti of the Republic of Tatarstan and Head of the Religious Board of Muslims of Tatarstan, during his official visit to the Republic of Tatarstan. The meeting focused on exploring avenues for cooperation between Oman and Tatarstan in areas such as Holy Qur'an studies, endowment (Waqf) and Zakat affairs, and the exchange of institutional expertise. Discussions also included the development of scientific and research programs to promote moderation and respect for diversity.
According to Oman News Agency, both parties reviewed possibilities for partnership in humanitarian and civilizational initiatives, highlighting the Human Convergence Project (Al Mu'talif Al Insani) as a platform for shared human values. Dr. Al Maamari emphasized Tatarstan's spiritual experience as an inspiring model that blends Islamic heritage with contemporary values, promoting balanced religious awareness. Sheikh Kamil Samigullin appreciated Oman's role in fostering civil peace and human communication.
The meeting underscored the commitment of both countries to expand religious and humanitarian cooperation and enhance partnership pathways. Separately, the "Al Mu'talif Al Insani: The Sultanate of Oman's Model for Development and Peace" exhibition was inaugurated at the historic Al Marjani Mosque in Kazan. The exhibition showcases Oman's vision for fostering understanding and civil peace through the principle of "Human Convergence," supporting dialogue and sustainable development.
