Muscat:The Oman Makers Centre has launched the inaugural session of the "Oman Makers" series, an initiative designed to foster innovation and manufacturing by facilitating the exchange of knowledge among innovators, makers, and entrepreneurs. The session took place at the Centre's premises in the Muscat Innovation Complex.
According to Oman News Agency, the "Oman Makers" sessions aim to create a dialogue space that brings together experts and innovators, thereby contributing to the exchange of knowledge and expertise. The initiative is expected to stimulate innovation and enhance participants' capabilities to transform ideas into manufacturable prototypes and products.
The inaugural session, titled "Makers from Oman," addressed various themes related to the transformation of ideas into products. Discussions included the development of prototypes, transitioning from experimental models to marketable products, industrial localization, and the use of modern technologies such as artificial intelligence and drones. The session also explored the opportunities and challenges faced by innovators, makers, and entrepreneurs.
The Oman Makers Centre is a collaborative initiative between the Research and Innovation Authority and the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates "Madayn," represented by the Industrial Innovation Academy. It serves as an integrated platform for developing experimental prototypes, which are crucial before moving to the commercial marketing phase of a project. The Centre aims to train and qualify entrepreneurs and innovators, enhance cooperation and expertise exchange, and support the development of manufacturable prototypes.
