Abu Dhabi: Represented by the Ministry of Finance, the Sultanate of Oman is taking part in the 10th Annual Meeting of Arab Finance Undersecretaries. The 2-day meeting began today in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) with the participation of the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development).
According to Oman News Agency, the meeting addresses the challenges of supporting energy in the Arab region. It will assess the impact of financial policies on growth and study Arab trends in managing public debt and addressing public finance risks. Additionally, discussions will cover how efforts to boost renewable energy development impact energy security.
The Ministry of Finance shared Oman's experience in revising energy support and promoting investment in renewable energy projects. This aligns with Oman Vision 2040's focus on economic diversification.
The meetings will also explore Arab countries' experiences in digital transition in public finance and the application of environmental, social, and governance standards in public institutions. This meeting serves as preparation for the 16th regular session of the Council of Arab Finance Ministers.
