Oman Participates in Meetings of Digital Cooperation Organization in Kuwait

Kuwait city: The Sultanate of Oman is taking part in the 5th General Assembly of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) and the 2nd edition of the International Digital Cooperation Forum held concurrently in the State of Kuwait. Representatives of more than 60 countries from around the world are participating in the meetings, which began today.

According to Oman News Agency, Oman's delegation is led by Dr. Ali bin Amer Al Shidhani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for Communications and Information Technology. The forum is themed 'Inclusive Prosperity in the Age of Artificial Intelligence (AI)' and is aligned with the DCO's efforts to promote international cooperation and ensure that all countries and societies benefit from the digital revolution.

The forum participants are exploring means of using AI and modern digital technologies to achieve sustainable and inclusive economic growth. They are also focusing on minimizing the digital divide between countries and ensuring the ethical and responsible use of technology.

During the meeting, participants are seeking ways to establish norms for the governance of AI that balance support for innovation with the protection of societies from digital risks like misinformation and cyber threats. Additionally, the impact of automation on the labor market is being elaborated upon. The assembly's views are expected to contribute to devising new global digital policies that promote innovation and open up opportunities for economic growth in the AI age.
