Frankfurt: The Sultanate of Oman began its participation today in the "IMEX Frankfurt 2026" exhibition, an event specialized in the incentive travel, meetings, and conferences sector, taking place in Frankfurt from 19-21 May. Through this participation, Oman aims to promote its tourism assets and enhance its position as a leading destination in the meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) tourism sector. This initiative is part of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism's strategy to attract business tourism and international events, thereby boosting the tourism sector's contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). According to Oman News Agency, the Sultanate's pavilion at the exhibition includes 11 tourism companies, institutions, and hotel establishments. These represent the Omani tourism sector, including tourism service operators, event and conference organizing companies, and the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. Khalid Walid Al Zedjali, Director of Oman Convention Office, emph asized that the Ministry's participation is an opportunity to network with international business tourism and event organizers, showcasing Oman's capabilities in hosting international conferences, exhibitions, and meetings. He highlighted the focus on meeting prominent organizers and professionals in business tourism to attract events that enhance Oman's standing. He further mentioned that the exhibition provides a platform for experts and stakeholders from the conferences and exhibitions sector, facilitating meetings with entities specialized in organizing meetings and incentives tourism. The Ministry has successfully attracted several international events, conferences, and meetings. Al Zedjali added that the participation aims to highlight Oman's tourism capabilities, positioning it as an ideal destination for hosting events, exhibitions, and conferences. This aligns with the Ministry's commitment to promoting conferences and incentives tourism through Oman Tourism Strategy 2040.
