Omani Hajj Mission Reviews Travel and Safety Measures for Pilgrimage Season 1447 AH

Muscat: The Omani Hajj Mission today held a meeting with Hajj companies to review updates to the pilgrimage season 1447 AH. Ahmed Saleh Al Rashidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs and Head of the Omani Hajj Mission, stated that the meeting addressed several arrangements, including travel by land transport buses in coordination with specialists in the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

According to Oman News Agency, Al Rashidi mentioned that an agreement was reached to permit Omani buses to deliver pilgrims to two stations in Saudi Arabia, after which the transport of pilgrims within the Kingdom will be conducted via licensed Saudi buses. This coordination aims to streamline the movement of pilgrims and ensure their safety during the journey.

Al Rashidi further elaborated that the Omani Hajj Mission has implemented a smart tracking system this year. This system will facilitate the monitoring of bus movements and allow for rapid intervention in emergencies if required, thus enhancing the safety measures for the pilgrims.

In addition, a coordination meeting was convened between Hajj companies and airlines at the Civil Aviation Authority's premises. This meeting focused on an initiative to reduce ticket prices for the current Hajj season, which is expected to ease the financial burden on pilgrims.

Al Rashidi also noted that each Hajj company will be allowed to have a doctor accompany them, totaling 17 doctors for this pilgrimage season. This measure is intended to provide medical support and ensure the well-being of the pilgrims during their journey.
