This growth is part of a broader initiative to diversify the economy and boost local food production. The substantial increase in both quantity and value of production underscores the effectiveness of these efforts.
Oman has been investing in improving aquaculture techniques, infrastructure, and regulatory frameworks to support sustainable growth in this sector. The increased production capacity is expected to contribute positively to the national economy, providing new employment opportunities and reducing dependency on imported seafood.
