RAMALLAH, Palestine today confirmed 674 new Covid-19 cases and nine death cases, according to Health Minister Mai Alkaila.

She announced that 674 Palestinians tested positive for the highly contagious virus and nine others died of it in the occupied territories.

As part of the 674 new cases, 155 cases were registered in the West Bank and 519 others in the Gaza Strip.

She identified the death cases as six residents of the West Bank and three others from the Gaza Strip.

She added that 675 Covid-19 patients recovered; 245 recovery cases in the West Bank and 430 others in the Gaza Strip.

She pointed that 57 Covid-19 patients are getting treatment in intensive care units and 117 others are currently receiving treatment at hospitals and Covid-19 dispensaries, including 10 who are intubated.

She said that the recovery rate in Palestine has so far reached 96.3 percent and the active cases account for 2.7 percent. The death toll stood at 1 percent of total infections.
