Palestine logs 230 COVID cases, three deaths

RAMALLAH, Minister of Health Mai Alkaila said today that 230 new cases of COVID-19, three deaths and 195 recoveries were registered in Palestine during the last 24 hours.

In her daily report on the coronavirus pandemic, Alkaila said one death from COVID-19 was registered in the Gaza Strip, while another two deaths were reported in the West Bank.

A total of 3,332 COVID-19 tests were conducted during the reporting period. In the Gaza Strip, 117 coronavirus tests came out positive, while the West Bank had 113 new cases.

No update was available regarding the situation in occupied Jerusalem.

The Health Minister said that in the West Bank, 72 patients of COVID-19 are currently hospitalized, of whom 44 are in intensive care, including 7 on ventilators.

She pointed out that the recovery rate in Palestine has so far reached 98.3 percent, while active cases declined to 0.7 percent. Deaths stood at only one percent of total infections.

Concerning rollout of vaccines, the Health Minister said a total of 1,402,500 people have been fully vaccinated across Palestine, including 1,020,600 in the West Bank and 382,000 in Gaza
