Palestine records 330 new Covid-19 cases, six deaths

RAMALLAH, Palestine today recorded 330 new Covid-19 cases and six deaths, according to Health Minister Mai Alkaila.

She announced that 330 Palestinians tested positive for the highly contagious virus and six others died of it in the occupied territories.

As part of the 330 new cases, 233 cases were registered in the West Bank and 97 others in the Gaza Strip.

She identified three of the death cases as residents of the Gaza Strip, another as a resident of the West Bank district of Bethlehem and two others as residents of the West Bank district of Hebron.

She added that 260 Covid-19 patients recovered; 215 recovery cases in the West Bank and 45 others in the Gaza Strip.

She pointed that 55 Covid-19 patients are getting treatment in intensive care units and 83 others are currently receiving treatment at hospitals, including 16 who are on ventilators.

She said that the recovery rate in Palestine has so far reached 98.2 percent and the active cases account for 0.8 percent. The death toll stood at 1 percent of total infections.
