Palestinian injured in Jenin-area clashes succumbs to injuries, foreign ministry condemns his killing

A Palestinian succumbed today to injuries he sustained yesterday by Israeli gunfire during clashes that broke out in the town of Jaba’a to the south of Jenin, in the northern occupied West Bank, according to Jani Abu Jokha, head of the Ibn Sina hospital in Jenin.

He said that Kamel Abdallah Alwaneh, 19, succumbed to the serious injuries he sustained after being shot by Israeli forces on Saturday.

Kamel was named after his brother who was also killed by Israeli forces in 2003.

The ministry of foreign affairs and expatriates in a statement today condemned the Israeli army’s killing of Alwaneh, slamming it as part of the daily series of crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian people, which have so far resulted in the killing of 78 Palestinians since the start of 2022.

The ministry held the Israeli occupation authorities directly and fully responsible for these crimes and their repercussions on the arena of conflict.

It demanded the International Criminal Court (ICC) break its silence and issue arrest warrants against the criminals and murderers and those who stand behind them, which it stressed is particularly important in light of the Israeli authorities’ escalation of crimes against the Palestinian people, land, properties, and holy sites in absolute disregard to international condemnations and United Nations demands to immediately stop these escalations.
