Palestinian killed as occupation forces attack protesters at Gaza border

RAMALLAH, A Palestinian young man was killed and many others injured today as Israeli occupation forces attacked hundreds of protesters demonstrating for the third week at the east border of Gaza in protest of the ongoing 14-year-long Israeli blockade.

Soldiers stationed along the borderline opened gunfire and teargas at the protesters to disperse them, killing a 26-year-old youth and injuring many protesters by gunshots. Others sustained suffocation from gas inhalation, said WAFA correspondent, quoting witnesses.

He said several Israeli drones were seen throwing teargas canisters at the protesters who gathered at many locations across the border fence to express their resentment over the Israeli blockade.

Palestinians in Gaza have been demonstrating near the border for over almost three weeks to raise their voice against the 14-year Israeli blockade of the coastal enclave.

At least one fatality and 80 injuries have been reported among Palestinian protesters during the ongoing border protests during the last two weeks.
