Palestinian land seized to expand West Bank highway serving illegal Israeli settlements

The Israeli occupation authorities today proceeded to destroy a large area of land in the north of the occupied West Bank in an effort to expand a road serving its illegal area settlements, according to an official in the Qalqilya Governorate.

Mohammad Abu al-Sheikh, who is in charge of the settlements file in the Qalqilya Governorate, said the work is part of a project that calls for seizing 166 dunums of Palestinian land belonging to Qalqilya and a village and a town east of the city in order to expand highway number 55 that serves settlements in that area.
