A Palestinian Thursday afternoon sustained a gunshot injury and dozens suffocated from Israeli army gunfire in ongoing confrontations across the occupied West Bank.

In the southern West Bank, Palestinians took to the streets at the northern entrance of Bethlehem city to the protest the killing of nine Palestinians and wounding 20 others by Israeli army gunfire in a Jenin raid.

A protestor was evacuated to a hospital after sustaining a gunshot injury in the foot from Israeli army gunfire at the entrance.

Israeli soldiers cracked down on a rally in al-Khader town, south of Bethlehem, showering participants with volleys of tear gas canisters, but without any casualties.

In Ramallah district, dozens of students took to the streets at the northern entrance of al-Bireh city, close to the colonial settlement of Beit El.

The soldiers forcefully dispersed the rally, firing concussion bombs and tear gas canisters at the participants. There were no casualties.

In the northern West Bank city of Qalqiliya, soldiers manning the permanently-staffed Jaljulyeh checkpoint quelled a similar rally. There were no injuries.

The sources confirmed similar confrontations, west of Shweika neighborhood, north of Tulkarm city, and close to the Gishouri Industrial Complex, west of the city, resulting in suffocation cases.

Palestinians took to the streets in various parts of the West Bank denouncing the army assault into Jenin that left nine Palestinians killed and 20 others wounded, including four seriously wounded.

This came as Palestinians are observing a general strike in the occupied West Bank to mourn the nine slain fatalities.

Shops were shuttered in all West Bank cities, schools and universities suspended studies and businesses shut down.
