A Palestinian today sustained wounds in a settler attack close to Deir Sharaf junction, west of Nablus city, according to a local activist.
Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors colonial settlement activities in the northern West Bank, said that a group of settlers hurled stones at several Palestinians at the junction, wounding a young man, a resident of Sebastia town, in the head.
Daghlas added the settlers stormed the area to remove Palestinian flags near the junction and attacked several residents, spewing pepper spray in their faces.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army razed lands near a military roadblock the soldiers installed a few months earlier close to the al-Mas‘udiyya area near Burqa village, northwest of Nablus.
In the meantime, the settlers hurled stones and empty bottles at Palestinian vehicles on the main Jenin-Nablus Road, near Silat ad-Dhahr town, south of Jenin, and near intermittently-staffed Shavei Shomron roadblock, west of Nablus, causing damage to at least a vehicle.
Settler violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.
Settlers‘ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.
There are over 700,000 Israeli settlers living in colonial settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
