Palestinian veteran prisoner completes today 36 years behind Israeli bars

RAMALLAH, Palestinian Veteran prisoner, Samir Abu Nemeh, 62, completed today 35 years behind Israeli bars, said the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

Abu Nemeh is one of the 25 veteran prisoners in Israeli jails since before the sinning of the Oslo accords between the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and Israel in 1993, the oldest of whom are Kareem and Maher Yunis.

PPS said that Abu Nemeh suffers from a difficult health condition as a result of his harsh conditions of detention and interrogation. He has been subjected to ongoing deliberate medical negligence throughout his incarceration in Israeli jails.

He currently suffers from a persistent sharp pain in his right hand and spine’s nerve center as a result of being subjected to harsh interrogations and torture following his detention.

Abu Nemeh lost his loved ones, including his mother and three brothers while he was in jail and in all unfortunate incidents he was prevented from bidding them farewell.

Abu Nemeh was detained in 1986 and sentenced to lifetime in jail and is currently incarcerated in Ramon jail.
