RAMALLAH, Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh today held the Israeli government responsible for the killing of two Palestinians overnight Thursday near Huwwara checkpoint to the south of Nablus, calling on the international community to provide international protection for the Palestinian people.

Shtayyeh mourned the killing of the two members of the civil defense on his official Facebook page, slamming their killing as a heinous crime of field execution.

He hailed the two slain Palestinians as among the best officers and pioneers of the national, organizational, and community work in Askar camp.

Shtayyeh, on behalf of the Palestinian government, conveyed condolences and sympathy to their bereaved families.
