RAMALLAH, President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas has congratulated in a cable Luiz Inácio “Lula” da Silva for winning the presidency in Brazil.
“We are pleased to extend to Your Excellency our heartfelt greetings on your victory as President of Brazil, in the Brazilian presidential elections, wishing you success in leading your country and people towards achieving its goals and aspirations,” the President said. “We take this good occasion to express our keenness to strengthen the relations of cooperation and friendship that exist between our two countries and peoples, in a way that achieves their common interest.”
“Please accept, Your Excellency, our sincere wishes for health, happiness and success, and for your friendly country and people to achieve further progress, stability and prosperity,” the President concluded.
