President Abbas discusses latest developments with Algerian counterpart

RAMALLAH, President Mahmoud Abbas and his Algerian counterpart Abdelmadjid Tebboune discussed today the latest developments in the Palestinian territories, including the Israeli escalation against the Palestinian people and their holy sites in Jerusalem, particularly at al-Aqsa mosque.

President Abbas, during a phone conversation, briefed the Algerian President on the dangerous Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in the Palestinian territories, which lead to the killing of dozens and the injury of hundreds of others since the begging of the holy month of Ramadan.

He also briefed him on the ongoing Israeli attacks, especially the incursions into the blessed al-Aqsa Mosque, in flagrant violation of the historical situation and the law, which emphasizes the necessity of coordinating the entry of non-Muslim foreign visitors through the Islamic endowments.

He further informed the Algerian president about the extremist settlers’ attacks against Palestinian citizens and their properties under the protection of the occupation army, which he stressed cannot be tolerated and require decisive decisions to be taken in this regard.

President Abbas thanked President Tebboune for Algeria’s stances in support of the Palestinian people and their just cause at all levels, and for the efforts made by President Tebboune to mobilize international support to stop the Israeli aggression, especially in Jerusalem and the blessed al-Aqsa Mosque.

He highly valued the distinguished efforts made by Algeria, under the direct guidance of President Tebboune, to achieve Palestinian reconciliation by hosting Palestinian delegations from all factions.

President Abbas also talked over the contacts that he is making with Arab and international parties to stop the Israeli escalation and provide protection for the Palestinian people.

For his part, President Tebboune affirmed Algeria’s unwavering stances in support of the Palestinian people and their cause.

The Algerian president told President Abbas about the contacts that Algeria is making to stop the Israeli aggression on Jerusalem, the al-Aqsa mosque, and the Palestinian territories, stressing that Algeria will continue to exert its efforts to defend the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, and will continue to work to achieve Palestinian unity.
