President Abbas discusses latest political developments with Nigerian counterpart in New York

NEW YORK, President Mahmoud Abbas met today with his Nigerian counterpart Muhammadu Buhari on the sidelines of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly meetings in New York, where he briefed him on the latest political developments regarding the Palestinian issue in light of the continued Israeli violations against the Palestinian people, land, and Christian and Muslim holy sites.

The two presidents discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to promote them.

Prior to the meeting, the Nigerian President said during his speech to world leaders that his country supports the legitimate demands of the Palestinian people to achieve freedom, independence, and the establishment of an independent state.

President Abbas arrived in New York on Sunday to attend the United Nations General Assembly meetings.

He is expected to address the General Assembly on Friday.
