President Abbas discusses political developments with Lebanese counterpart

DOHA, President Mahmoud Abbas met today evening with his Lebanese counterpart, Michel Aoun, in the Qatari capital, Doha, where they discussed the latest political developments related to the Palestinian issue.

President Abbas discussed with the Lebanese president several issues of common interest and promoting the brotherly relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them in all fields.

President Abbas further briefed his Lebanese counterpart on the ongoing Israeli violations committed against the Palestinian people and their Islamic and Christian sanctities.

President Mahmoud Abbas arrived today in Doha, the capital of Qatar, at the invitation of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to participate in the opening day of the FIFA Arab Cup tomorrow.

He is accompanied by the head of the Palestinian Football Association (PFA), Jibril Rjoub, chairman of the General Authority for Civil Affairs and member of Fatah Central Committee, Hussein Al-Sheikh, head of intelligence, Majed Faraj, Diplomatic Advisor to President Mahmoud Abbas, Majdi Al-Khaldi, president’s advisor, Mustafa Abu al-Rob, and Palestine’s ambassador to Qatar, Moneer Ghannam.
