President Abbas discusses ways to protect two-state solution with German Chancellor

BERLIN, President Mahmoud Abbas met today with the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin, where they discussed ways to protect the two-state solution by calling on the international community to stop the Israeli aggressions and recognize the state of Palestine and its full membership in the United Nations.

President Abbas briefed the German Chancellor on the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and their properties, and Muslim and Christian holy sites as well as on the unprecedented settlement acceleration and seizure of land.

They also discussed the latest political developments in the region, efforts exerted to revive the peace process, and the bilateral relations between the two countries.

The President arrived last night in Berlin on an official visit.
