President Abbas offers condolences to Pakistani president over victims of deadly flooding

RAMALLAH, President Mahmoud Abbas today offered his condolences to the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Arif Alvi over the victims of the deadly flooding in Pakistan.

The president expressed in a cable his deep concern and intense sorrow about the disastrous flooding and heavy monsoon rains that have claimed the lives of hundreds of people, displaced millions of others, and caused enormous financial losses.

The president expressed his full solidarity with the Pakistani government, people, and families of the victims, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

President Abbas also sent a cable of support and condolences to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Shahbaz.

President Abbas further announced the launching of a popular campaign to raise funds to support those affected by the floods.

The president also issued instructions to dispatch a Palestinian medical mission to Pakistan to provide all possible assistance to the wounded and affected persons.
