President Abbas urges unity in face of regional, global challenges

President Mahmoud Abbas Sunday evening urged unity in the face of regional and global challenges.

Speaking at the 10th session of Fatah Revolutionary Council in the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, President Abbas stated that the Palestinian people was going through an extremely difficult and sensitive phase as a result of regional and global challenges, which requires the Palestinian people in the occupied territories and abroad along with their advocates to unite in order to face such challenges.

He briefed the attendees on the latest political developments on the Palestinian arena, including Israeli crimes against and killings of Palestinians, most recently the killing of 22-year-old Ammar Mefleh, whose death was caught on video and shared widely on social media, by an Israeli soldier in Huwwara town near Nablus on Friday, which brought the total of Palestinians slain since the beginning of 2022 to 211.

Given the political stalemate, President Abbas put forwards a road map to be discussed as a way to face the challenges and take all decisions necessary to safeguard the Palestinian people’s rights and constant principles.
