Presidential Committee for Churches: We will not lower our flag. It will continue to flutter in the face of the occupation

President of the Higher Presidential Committee of Churches Affairs, Ramzi Khoury, called on the Palestinians to rally around the Beit Jala Orthodox Scouts group, against the ‘barbaric’ decision and behavior of the occupation’s army to storm the scouts camp on the land of Al-Makhrour in the city of Beit Jala, demanding to lower the Palestinian flag and remove a mobile caravan used as a kitchen for the camp, on the grounds that it is disturbing the Israeli settlers in the area.

“This is a serious attack, especially since the camp is attended by approximately 150 people, including many children. The occupation is violating and ignoring all international conventions, which has become clear before the eyes of the whole world.” Khoury concluded by praising the role of the Palestinian Scouts Association, represented by its Chairman, General Jibril Rajoub, and all scout groups in serving the Palestinian cause by affirming the Palestinian identity, calling on all, especially the Beit Jala Orthodox Scouts group, not to succumb to any orders issued by the occupying power.

“We will not lower our flag. It will continue to flutter, today above our lands in Beit Jala and tomorrow it will flutter above the minarets and churches of our capital, Jerusalem,” he said.
