Presidential spokesman holds Israel fully responsible for the killing of Shireen Abu Akleh

Presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh held Israel fully responsible for the killing of al-Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, who was assassinated by the Israeli army’s fire on May 11 in Jenin.

The Presidential spokesman said in a statement today that “We will not accept under any circumstances the manipulation of the outcomes of Palestinian investigations, and will continue the procedures on her assassination in international courts, particularly the International Criminal Court, since Israel is responsible for her killing and must bear the consequences.”

He deeply regretted the Israeli government’s disavowal of its responsibilities for the killing of Abu Akleh, calling on the US administration to maintain its credibility and hold the Israeli government fully responsible for the killing of Abu Akleh, “because Palestinian and international facts confirm without doubt the responsibility of the Israeli army.”
