Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh and in his capacity as Interior Minister ordered late last night the release of all citizens detained by police in Ramallah on the same night, according to government spokesman Ibrahim Milhem.

Police spokesman Loai Irzeikat said last night that police detained a number of people who gathered on the main road in the center of Ramallah without a permit with an intention to hold a sit-in.

He said anyone who wants to hold a gathering or a sit-in should first apply for a permit from the chief of police in that district in order to organize traffic and provide protection to the people in the gathering.
