RAMALLAH, Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh today discussed with representatives of the six Palestinian human rights and civil society organizations targeted by Israel ways to confront the Israeli decision to outlaw them at the local and international levels, as well as a mechanism to unify their efforts to ensure the continuation of the work and financing of these organizations.

“Israel is waging several wars against us, over land, people, money and the narrative, and now it has started a war on official and unofficial institutions to destroy the civil society, violating with this all international covenants, laws and human rights,” Shtayyeh told the delegation he met at his Ramallah office.

“We will make every effort to keep these institutions operating. They are a major component of the national public scene, and they are licensed by the Ministry of the Interior. Harming them is unacceptable and a red line,” added the Prime Minister.

Members of the delegation said they value the position of the leadership, the government and all national frames, stressing that they reject the Israeli decision and that they will continue in their humanitarian and social work, while coordinating and cooperating with all parties to stop this decision.
