Prisoners advocacy groups: Israel detained almost 700 Palestinians in October, including 119 minors

RAMALLAH, The Israeli military detained 690 Palestinians in the occupied territories during October, including 119 minors and 30 women, today said Palestinian prisoners’ advocacy groups.

The Prisoners Affairs Commission, the Prisoners Society, Addameer, and Wadi Hilweh Information Center said in their joint monthly report on Israeli army arrests in the occupied territories that most of the detentions were in the Jerusalem area, where 343 Palestinians were detained, followed by Hebron district with 114 cases, then Ramallah with 60 cases.

Regarding administrative detention of activists without charge or trial, Israel issued 219 orders in October, including 84 new ones and 135 renewals of existing orders.

The report said that, until the end of October, Israel is holding some 4760 Palestinian freedom fighters in its jails, including 33 women, 160 minors, and 820 held in administrative detention.
