Beijing: Promotional workshops organized by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in the People's Republic of China began today in the city of Beijing. The goal is to enhance the Sultanate of Oman's tourism standing in the Chinese market and attract travelers and tourists from the Chinese market.
According to Oman News Agency, following Beijing, the Ministry will continue its promotional tour in Shanghai and Guangzhou, lasting until 5 December, with the participation of 22 Omani tourism establishments. Azzan Qassim Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism, affirmed that organizing these workshops comes at a time when the Chinese market is witnessing unprecedented growth in demand for outbound travel, making China one of the most promising markets for Omani tourism in the coming years.
He stated that the Sultanate of Oman possesses natural and heritage components that make it an ideal destination for travelers seeking authentic experiences, in addition to the facilities it offers, including visa exemption for 14 days and the launch of direct flights between Beijing and Muscat. Al Busaidi added that the Ministry has worked during the past period to enhance the Sultanate of Oman's presence in the Chinese market through strategic initiatives and specialized partnerships. This promotional tour aims to present the Sultanate of Oman as a unique destination that meets the aspirations of the Chinese tourists seeking exceptional nature and diverse experiences.
He stressed that the People's Republic of China is considered one of the largest markets in terms of spending volume and number of travelers, and these events open new horizons for joint cooperation, supporting the development of specialized travel programs and enhancing air connectivity, which contributes to increasing the flow of tourists to the Sultanate of Oman. The workshops in Beijing included introductory presentations about Omani tourism components, along with bilateral meetings between Omani companies and about 100 Chinese tourism companies, including tour operators and entities specialized in the meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions sector.
During the workshop, new digital promotional platforms for the Sultanate of Oman in the Chinese market were launched, in addition to the Chinese version of the "Discover Oman" website. This is part of the effort to enhance the Sultanate of Oman's digital presence and attract targeted tourist segments. These platforms represent effective tools for implementing various digital promotional campaigns, consistent with the Ministry's direction towards maximizing the use of modern digital channels in implementing promotional programs.
The Ministry continues its promotional efforts in implementing its marketing plan, having opened new tourism representation offices in a number of important tourist markets such as the Chinese, Russian, and Spanish markets. Work is underway to open a tourism representation office that includes Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand, bringing the total number of tourism representation offices to 11 offices that conduct marketing campaigns in 25 countries with global tourism institutions in these markets.
