Protesters demand Barclays Bank to end complicity in Israeli war crimes

LONDON, Hundreds of activists marched yesterday in downtown Manchester, England, all the way to the headquarters of Barclays Bank demanding it to end its investments in companies profiting from Israeli apartheid and war crimes in Palestine.

The Manchester Palestine Action, a pro-Palestine group in the city, said its members along with supporters of Palestine were “occupying Barclays Bank who have investments in Israeli Arms company Elbit Systems who profit from war and Israel’s recent massacres in Gaza.”

The demonstrators accused the bank of making investments and providing loans worth billions of pounds sterling to companies that sell weapons and military technology to the apartheid state in Israel.

The “War on the Poor” organization has said that “the bank’s administration is arming Israel and making money at the expense of the violence that Israel is pursuing against the Palestinian people.”
