Muscat: Sayyid Khalifa Said Al Busaidi, Chairman of the Supreme Court, met today in Muscat with a judicial delegation from the State of Qatar, led by Ahmed Ali Al Binali, Deputy President of the Qatari Court of Cassation. The meeting focused on enhancing judicial cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the State of Qatar, alongside the exchange of insights and experiences in the judicial and legal fields.
According to Oman News Agency, this visit is part of the bilateral scientific exchange program between Supreme Courts and Courts of Cassation within the GCC countries. It aims to strengthen joint judicial cooperation and underscores the strategic importance of such visits in fostering integration among GCC judicial bodies, improving their efficiency through the exchange of expertise and the review of the latest practices and technologies.
In a related context, the Qatari delegation met with Issa Hamad Al Azri, Secretary-General of the Supreme Judiciary Council. During the meeting, the delegation was briefed on the pillars of the Supreme Judiciary Council's long-term strategic plan (2024-2040) and its first associated operational plan (2024-2030). These plans are being implemented by Oman to build an efficient judicial system centered on innovation and digital transformation.
The delegation was introduced to several prominent digital transformation platforms, including the Unified Judicial Portal, which offers comprehensive electronic services such as case filing, procedure tracking, viewing session schedules, and judgment enforcement. They also reviewed the Electronic Documentation platform for notarizing transactions, the Digital Judicial Library, and advanced future projects. These upcoming initiatives include conducting remote litigation sessions in a secure technical environment supported by Artificial Intelligence (AI), as well as developing smart linguistic models for prediction and the drafting of rulings.
