Representative Office of India to PA Celebrates ITEC Day in Ramallah

RAMALLAH, The Representative Office of India in Ramallah celebrated ‘Indian Technical & Economic Cooperation’ (ITEC) Day-2021 today in Ramallah, said a press release issued today by the Representative Office of India in Ramallah.

The event included a screening of a recorded message by Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi, followed by glimpses of Palestinian ITEC Alumni on their experiences in India, in addition to cultural performances by Awtar Cultural Center and Off-Stage Band that highlighted the cultural features shared by India and Palestine.

‘ITEC Day’ is an event organized by the Representative Office of India to bring ITEC alumni in Palestine together so that they can share their experiences and benefits of ITEC courses in providing expertise in various fields of knowledge, which contribute to the capacity building of friendly nations.

With over fifty years of providing vital training in various fields, the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation programme-ITEC of the Ministry of External Affairs of the Government of India is based on two main pillars; (a) Development cooperation incorporating the idea of partnership and mutual benefit, (b) Development cooperation based on priorities determined by the partner country.

It is worth noting that more than more 200,000 people from 160 partner countries, including around 1300 Palestinians have benefited from the ITEC capacity-building training programs. The entire cost of training, including the return international airfare, tuition fees, accommodation, emergency medical treatment, stipend, book allowances, and study tour, are fully borne by the Government of India.
