Muscat:According to Oman News Agency, the Research and Innovation Authority has entered into a strategic memorandum of cooperation with OQ, a global energy investment group. The agreement aims to foster research partnerships, facilitate knowledge exchange, and develop advanced technologies.
The memorandum was signed by Dr. Saif Abdullah Al Haddabi, Chairman of the Research and Innovation Authority, and Azzan Mohammed Al Abdullatif, Chief Executive Officer for Business Development at OQ. This collaboration seeks to align national research capabilities with industrial sector needs, transforming research outcomes into practical solutions that add economic value and support sustainable development.
Key aspects of the memorandum include establishing the National Center for Research and Development in Water Fields, promoting knowledge and data exchange, and empowering national cadres through joint innovation programs. These programs will utilize business incubators and accelerators from OQ Group and the "EJAAD" platform to tackle industrial and research challenges. Additionally, the agreement focuses on developing research projects in alternative energy, biodiesel, and genetic resources, supporting capacity-building and international participation for students and researchers, and connecting national innovation centers with OQ Group's initiatives.
