Muscat: The Royal Guard of Oman (RGO) celebrated its annual day today, which is observed every year on 1 November, under the patronage of Lt.Gen Hassan Mohsin Al Shraiqi, Inspector-General of Police and Customs. The event took place at the parade field of the RGO Command and featured the graduation of new recruits. According to Oman News Agency, the ceremony included various programs showcasing the development and modernization of the RGO under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander. During the event, the chief guest awarded certificates of excellence to the top graduates and bestowed the RGO Special Medal on several personnel in recognition of their service to the nation. Following the awards, the graduates performed the RGO anthem alongside a parachute display by the RGO free jumping team, and they expressed their loyalty by proclaiming "Long Live His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander" three times. The ceremony was attended by ministers, command ers of the Sultan's Armed Forces, other military and security units, and senior military and civil officials.
