Royal Hospital Achieves Highest Quality Standards in Nuclear Medicine Endorsed by IAEA

Muscat: The Royal Hospital, represented by the Department of Nuclear Medicine, has successfully completed the QUANUM programme (Quality Assurance Audit in Nuclear Medicine Practices) conducted by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). This marks a significant milestone as it is the first time a nuclear medicine centre in the Sultanate of Oman has undergone such an extensive international assessment.

According to Oman News Agency, the programme was held from 4 to 8 May 2025, marking the Royal Hospital's commitment to upholding high standards in nuclear medicine. The assessment provided by the IAEA offers a comprehensive review of the hospital's practices, ensuring that they meet international quality benchmarks.

The field assessment results revealed a remarkable score of 92.5 percent for the Royal Hospital, significantly surpassing the global average of 73.9 percent. This achievement places the hospital well above the typical performance range of 56.6% to 87.9%, showcasing its dedication to excellence in nuclear medicine practices.
