Manama, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), Hala Al Ansari, received at the council’s headquarters in Riffa Minister of Housing and Urban Planning Amena bint Ahmed Al Romaihi.

They reviewed a number of issues related to the provision of housing services for Bahraini women so as to ensure social and family stability in the Kingdom of Bahrain. They also discussed the new housing finance programme which included the expansion of the types and privileges of financial services, the expansion of the Mazaya programme, the addition of the Tasheel programme etc.

The meeting The meeting also discussed the latest developments in the operation of the “Masaken” building in Al-Lawzi area, which is intended for beneficiaries of the fifth category, who are divorced, abandoned or widowed and do not have one or more children, or single and orphaned, as this category is granted temporary housing service.

Both sides agreed to develop a joint work programme expand the “Masaken” project by finding additional buildings in the governorates of the kingdom to meet the demands that meet the requirements of this category.

For her part, the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning praised the efforts of SCW under the presidency of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King, in supporting the march of advancement for Bahraini women. She commended the unlimited support of Her Royal Highness to ensure that Bahraini women benefit from all housing services. She stressed the keenness of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning to support the SCW programmes within the framework of the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women.
