Sharp increase in construction, road, and water networks cost index in the West Bank in March

RAMALLAH, The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) today reported a sharp increase in the Construction Cost Index (CCI), the Road Cost Index (RCI), Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI), and Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) in the West Bank during March.

The CCI for residential buildings increased by 3.60% during March compared with February. At the level of major groups, the prices of labor costs and wages increased by 4.69%, the price of raw materials increased by 3.45%, the prices of iron and steel increased by 17.25%, and the price of rental of equipment increased by 0.23%.

CCI for non-residential buildings also increased by 3.54%. At the level of major groups, the prices of labor costs and wages increased by 4.69%, the price of raw materials increased by 3.36%, the prices of iron and steel increased by 17.25%, and the price of rental of equipment increased by 0.23% during March 2022 compared with the previous month.

CCI for skeleton buildings increased by 5.28%. At the level of major groups, the prices of raw materials increased by 6.28%, the prices of iron and steel increased by 17.25%, the price of labor costs and wages increased by 4.03%, and the price of rental of equipment increased by 0.23%.

RCI also increased by 2.65% during March compared with February. At the level of major groups, the price of raw materials increased by 3.34%, the prices of iron and steel increased by 17.70%, the price of labor costs and wages increased by 2.86%, the price of rental of equipment increased by 1.75%, and the price of operating costs of equipment and maintenance increased by 0.11% during.

WNCI increased by 2.75%, water reservoirs cost index increased by 7.21%, and water networks cost index increased by 0.89%.

The SNCI in the West Bank increased by 0.86% during March compared with February.
