Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al Asfoor, Minister of Social Development, honoured pioneers and initiatives in the civil social work sector in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
This came on the sidelines of the 19th meeting of the GCC Ministers and Heads of the Civil Service, and the 9th Meeting of the Committee with the Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Social Development of the GCC.
The minister congratulated Her Highness Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, INJAZ Bahrain Board of Directors Chairperson, on obtaining the Social Work Pioneer Medal by the Ministers of Social Affairs and Social Development of the GCC countries.
Al Asfoor congratulated the National Anti-drug Committee and Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) for their recognition as pioneering projects in social work.
The minister commended their efforts to serve various segments of society by implementing programs and initiatives that reflect Bahrain's values of charity and social work.
He affirmed the GCC's ministers of social affairs and development keenness to implement the directives of the councils' leaders in order to consolidate development efforts and provide full support for sustainable development.
