South Al Batinah Council Reviews Plans for Sustainable Tourism and Development


South al batinah: The Municipal Council of South Al Batinah Governorate convened for its tenth meeting of 2025 to assess several service and development topics pertinent to the growth of the governorate’s wilayats.



According to Oman News Agency, the meeting was chaired by Eng. Masoud Said Al Hashimi, Governor of South Al Batinah and Chairman of the Council. The gathering included the approval of the previous meeting’s minutes and discussions on issues concerning the education sector.



During the session, the Department of Heritage and Tourism provided a visual presentation detailing the procedures for obtaining licenses for guest houses and “Green Inns.” This initiative aims to foster sustainable tourism within the governorate by regulating these facilities and promoting local investment in the hospitality sector.



The Council examined several general matters, including a study to enhance the monitoring of animal feed products in commercial shops and farms. Additionally, the meeting addressed the planning of sites for commercial, industrial, and service centers in villages and areas distant from city centers to ensure balanced development. Members also reviewed the annual report for 2025 and the report from the Committee for Governorate Development regarding their field visit to various projects in the Wilayat of Barka.
