The Directorate of State Security on Friday announced in a statement that as part of its ongoing efforts to combat the smuggling of funds abroad, a patrol from the Marjeyoun-Hasbaya Office of southern Lebanon's Nabatieh Regional Directorate apprehended a gang composed entirely of Syrians. The individuals, identified as (Y.M.), (M.A.), (S.J.), (M.J.), and (S.A.), were actively operating between the Bekaa Valley and the south, collecting money from various areas within the Marjeyoun jurisdiction and illicitly transferring it from Lebanon to several Arab and European countries. A significant amount of money prepared for smuggling was seized from the suspects.
