The official media condemns Israeli army’s targeting of Palestine TV crews, demands protection for journalists

RAMALLAH, Minister Ahmad Assaf, General Supervisor of the Official Media, condemned this evening the Israeli occupation army targeting of Palestine TV crew while covering the occupation’s criminal act in the village of Deir al-Hatab, east of Nablus, where the colleague Loai Samhan, Palestine TV cameraman, was shot by the soldiers while covering the assault.

Assaf stressed in a statement that “this new Israeli crime is only part of the incessant Israeli targeting of the Palestinian media, which did not stop for one day and aims to obscure the truth, bury it, and terrorize the Palestinian journalists.”

The General Supervisor demanded protection for Palestinian journalists who do their work professionally in reporting what is happening in Palestine to the world and in exposing the crimes of the occupation.

“Despite the crimes of the occupation against the Palestinian media, we are determined to continue with our duty toward our people and their cause, expose the crimes of the occupation, and convey their voice to the world,” he said.

“Were it not for the influence of the Palestinian media, the occupation would not be agitated in this way,” said Assaf, stressing that “this media will continue to convey the truth to the world at all costs, and that these crimes against the official media, which offered martyrs, wounded and prisoners, and whose headquarters were destroyed many times, will not be deterred from carrying out its national duty.”
