Muscat: The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation today announced that three projects have qualified for the Falling Walls Lab International Forum in Berlin. This announcement follows the conclusion of the tenth edition of the Falling Walls Lab competition, which took place at the Modern College of Business and Science.
According to Oman News Agency, the project titled "Cancer Treatment Using Bacteria" by Taif Obaid Al Qaydi claimed first place. The second place was awarded to Baraa Yousuf Al Oufi for the project "Ilmify," and the third place went to Al Haitham Mohammed Al Kalbani for the project "Quantum Mechanics in Carbon Nanotube Converters."
The closing ceremony of the competition was presided over by Dr. Saif Abdullah Al Haddabi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation for Research and Innovation. The competition's primary aim was to showcase the skills of Omani researchers, offering them a stage to present their innovative ideas. It also intended to link emerging research talents with scientists and experts, identify and nurture promising researchers, encourage international and interdisciplinary collaboration, and establish new channels for scientific communication and sustainable networking.
The event was designed for a wide audience, including students from colleges and universities, academics, entrepreneurs, employees of government and private sectors, and job seekers among citizens and residents across various governorates.
