Trade Balance down by 7% in April compared to March, and up by 48% compared to April of last year

The Palestinian trade balance, which represents the difference between exports and imports, showed a decrease in trade deficit by 7% in April compared to March, while it increased by 48% compared to April 2021 and reached $553.6 million, today said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).

Exports decreased in April by 5% compared to March, and decreased by 3% compared to April 2021 and reached $110.8 million, said the PCBS, adding that exports to Israel increased in April by 2% compared to March representing 91% of the total April exports.

On the other hand, exports to other countries decreased by 43% during the same period.

Imports also decreased in April by 7% compared to March, while they increased by 36% compared to April 2021 and reached $664.4 million.

Imports from Israel increased by 2% in April compared to March, representing 58% of total imports, while imports from other countries decreased by 16%, said the PCBS.
